Get to know Robert…

Robert Pendergraft, PhD is a minister, educator, and researcher in the area of church music and worship. Robert joined the faculty of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, TX in Fall 2016 as Assistant Professor of Church Music and Program Coordinator for Church Music. He also currently serves as Area Coordinator for Academic Studies in Music. In February 2017, Robert joined the staff of First Baptist Church of Salado where he currently serves as Associate Pastor of Music Ministries.  Robert additionally serves as Past President of the Baptist Church Music Conference, the national organization of denominational leaders, educators, and ministers of music serving Baptist congregations. He was an inaugural recipient of the Calvin Institute for Christian Worship Teacher/Scholar Grant in 2019. Robert holds Bachelor and Master degrees in Music Education from Samford University in Birmingham, AL, and the Doctor of Philosophy degree in Church Music from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX. Robert is married to Rachel and they have four children: Geneva, Judson, Katharina, and Isaac.
